RINGKNOCKER Virtual Meetup #16 with James Gray
James L. Gray (USNA ’88) is President & COO of iArchimedes, an engineering firm that serves maritime and intelligence community customers. iArchimedes specializes in developing components and systems that operate on or near the seafloor.
Jim was a career submarine officer and is a veteran of five submarine tours, including command of USS TEXAS (SSN 775). He served on the CNO’s Executive Panel and as Warfare Development Officer for Commander Submarine Forces. Jim was responsible for several Navy initiatives, including an experiment called Silent Hammer that investigated using the SSGN as a Joint Task Force Command & Control (C2) center, and another to install new submarine communications systems and deploy UUVs from submarines.
Jim has a considerable background in both the operational theory and the enabling technology in the least-explored, most technically challenging, and deadliest zone of the integrated battlespace: Seabed Warfare.
There are monsters at war in the deep dark sea. Jim should know: he makes them. This week Jim will brief the RINGKNOCKERs on the state of the art in Seabed Warfare, and its role in the Pacific Defense Initiative.
Never heard of it? Not many have. DON’T MISS THIS ONE!
