Erin Stone (USNA ’88) began her Navy career in the General Unrestricted Line community as an Aviation Intelligence Officer. She earned her law degree at Georgetown University in 1997 and moved to the Navy JAG Corps, where she served until her retirement from the Navy in 2017.
In 2018, Erin joined the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) as their Program Director for Engagement, where she established relationships to enhance value for members and affiliate organizations and provided advice to members and spouses undertaking career transitions. She assumed her current position as Program Director for Council & Chapter Affairs in April 2019. As Program Director, Erin develops and oversees organizational processes to support a healthy and vibrant affiliate system.
If you aren’t familiar with MOAA, you probably should be. They’re an advocacy organization, lobbying for better pay and benefits for members of all 8 United States uniformed services. Some things you probably appreciate but didn’t know that MOAA was the primary advocate for: transferability of your GI bill benefit to your dependents, concurrent receipt for veterans with 50% or higher disability rating, no more “widow’s tax” (otherwise known as the BP/DIC off-set), and postponement of medical billet cuts.
This week, Erin will introduce MOAA to the RINGKNOCKER community and help us understand how we can leverage the work of this great organization to serve our families and our comrades in arms.
DON’T MISS THIS ONE!
