January 14 @ 20:00 - 21:30 EST
Virtual Event

The guest speaker at this week’s RINGKNOCKER Virtual Meetup is Dennis Volpe (USNA ’96). His topic: TRANSITIONING ON PURPOSE.

Dennis is a Principal Consultant and Executive Performance and Transition Coach with the Leadership Research Institute. He earned his MS in Leadership Development from the Naval Postgraduate School, and is a Columbia University certified Executive Coach.

Dennis has over twenty years of leadership and operational experience as a career Naval Officer. He taught leadership at the Naval Academy, and served leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including Command at Sea.

Dennis has experienced success and setbacks, both personal and professional, and knows what it takes to live a resilient life. He challenges and empowers leaders to embrace their reality and define what they want, and equips them with the insight, perspective, and accountability necessary to be successful in new and challenging environments.

Dennis coaches servicemembers transitioning to civilian life, and gets involved in hands-on leadership programs for emerging leaders. He enjoys the outdoors, is a passionate college Rugby and Lacrosse fan, and is an avid triathlete.

If you are approaching a transition in life—and, honestly, who isn’t?—DON’T MISS THIS ONE!

  1. Another one in the can! Thanks to everybody who joined the call, and special thanks to @djvolpe for his great talk!

For those who had trouble connecting via the email link, I think we have a handle on it… if you already do zoom calls (which many of us do), the fact that you are already logged into the desktop or mobile app can interfere with that Single Sign-On link.

We’ll add an alternate link to the e-mail–similar to the one already on the event page–that will log you into the desktop/mobile app ON PURPOSE, and that should solve the problem. We’ll improve the instructions in the email as well.

Also curious whether registrants for the call get notified of this comment. Still learning some stuff over here lol.

  2. Apologies, shipmates, but the first follow-up email from this Meetup will be a little delayed. We are now RSVPing on the website instead of registering for calls with Zoom, so I had to spend the day devising a new data export process for @tineke and integrating it into the existing system. I’ll have the follow-up out before this evening East Coast time.

Incidentally, both admin assistant @tineke and video editor @Ioana are here with us now, flying overwatch! 🙂
