The guest speaker at this week’s RINGKNOCKER Virtual Meetup is Dan Lyons (USNA ’81).
Dan is a former Surface Warfare Officer and an Olympic oarsman. He rowed on seven US National Teams, winning won a World Championship in 1986 while still on active duty, then competing in the Seoul Olympics in 1988, shortly after hanging up his uniform. Dan was inducted into the US Rowing Hall of Fame in 1997. His professional coaching career includes positions at the US Naval Academy, Oxford, Stanford, Drexel, Georgetown, and as an elite coach for the Penn Athletic Club in Philadelphia.
In 1995 Dan founded Team Concepts, a global leadership development and team formation company helping organizations leverage their leadership capabilities at every level. Emphasizing the transformation and alignment of human energy, Team Concepts teaches aspiring managers, leaders and organizations how to create, lead, and maintain high performance teams.
Team Concepts delivers unique and inspiring experiential training worldwide in both live and virtual formats. Their programs interweave active student participation, reflective observations, and powerful subject matter content into an unforgettable training experience characterized by increased long-term learning retention.
RINGKNOCKERs are generally an upbeat crowd, but even among us Dan stands out as a great storyteller with a powerfully positive voice. Expect some sea stories this week, as well as a couple of great ideas you’ll be able to put to work immediately in your own projects.
